Q&A With Bridal Boudoir Affair 2012 Host Natasha Gargiulo

27. Feb, 2012

We’ve all watched you year after year at the Bridal Boudoir Affair interviewing, hosting, and introducing everyone involved for our featured video shorts.  The camera grabs snippets to recreate the day’s mood and ambiance – what would you consider your favourite element of the Boudoir to be from a first-hand perspective?

There are many highlights not to be missed every year at the Bridal Boudoir.  I feel the event exposes brides-to-be and newcomers to something unique, unlike anything they have ever seen before at a typical salon show.  One of my favourite events during the trendy affair is when the guests speakers are invited to share their very valuable tips and expertise.  Every bride in the room gets the exclusive opportunity to hear from renowned professionals in the industry .  Another element which is always a crowd pleaser – the fashion show!  Every year the runway at the boudoir affair features some of the most breathtaking designs, gowns and lingerie that are rarely  seen in editorials.  There is a sense of feeling like you are getting an exclusive look at upcoming trend before anyone else.  Guests are not only treated to a runway show, but also some form of entertainment (i.e Burlesque and  trapeze).  There is always a WOW factor on the runway!

You are best known for lighting up the screen on ET Canada and animating the sound waves at Virgin Radio.  How did you get to where you are today?

Everything I have achieved has been through hard work and dedication.  I have always known I wanted to work in TV and Radio, and made it a point at a young age to learn everything about the industry through internships and networking.  I studied and graduated from Concordia university, then focused on getting my foot in the door at a TV or Radio station in the city.  My first job was interning at MIX 96 radio, eventually I was offered a job, and everything snowballed form there.  I then applied the same work ethic to TV.  Every job was a stepping stone that  brought me closer to where I wanted to be, and I gained valuable experience along the way.  I have always set goals and worked hard at achieving them.  Of course there were challenges along the way, but that only fueled my determination.

What initially lured you into becoming a part of the Bridal Boudoir team?  What do you think the Boudoir has to offer Montreal (and international) brides?

I have always been a fan of Maddy’s sense of style and driven work ethic.  When she had initially mentioned her plans and vision to launch a new modern bridal show for todays generation of brides, there was no doubt in my mind she would create a unique event for brides that was beyond compare!  I truly believe she has created a niche for herself in this industry.  There was nothing like this offered to brides in the city.  Then when I was first exposed to the Boudoir affair , It made me want to get married all over again…(to the same man of course!!).  I had wished I had known about all these hidden gems before I tied the knot.  It’s a modern, ultra classy, ultimate must-see chic event that every bridal fashionista will enjoy!  I am a huge fan and will continue to support and admire Maddy K and her hard working team at the Bridal Boudoir.

Describe your fantasy wedding.

I really enjoyed every moment of my wedding 8 years ago, it was a memorable day for both of us, and we were extremely happy with our choices for the big day!  The food and entertainment were key in making our wedding day a success.  We wanted to celebrate the big day with our family and friends, and most of all we wanted everyone to have a good time!  If I were to renew my vows and do it all over again, I would love to get married under the Tuscan Sun, in Italy, on a vineyard in the presence of my close family and friends.  After the intimate  ceremony , a huge out door reception would follow and all our guests would enjoy traditional Tuscan cuisine , lots of wine, and indulge in all the pleasures of LA DOLCE VITA!  Hey a girl can dream…

As a maid of honor or bridesmaid, what is the best piece of advice you would offer a bride-to-be?

This is one of  most important  and memorable days of your life , take the time to enjoy every moment of it!

At one point during the reception make sure to stop and absorb all that is happening around you. You will feel overwhelmed by all the love and joy that is in the room for the both of you . It is a great moment that will leave you feeling extremely grateful and maybe a little teary eyed…but they are tears of extreme JOY!
